Wild rides at the Puyallup Fair

ALAN BERNER / THE SEATTLE TIMES

It's head-over-heels for mutton bustin' rider Brett Harris, 6, Fair who did not stay on the necessary six-seconds to compete for prizes Saturday at the Puyallup Fair. Fearless youngsters four-to-seven weighing less than 60-pounds get to ride. All have protective vests and safety helmets. It's $10 per ride at this event, one of the most popular at the fair.

Amy Stumph, left, and Sierra Larberg found out why this ride is called "Extreme Scream" when they were rocketed up and down Saturday. For more photos, visit the gallery.
