Bavarian ox-racing championship

Participants dressed in traditional Bavarian lederhosen arrive for the 5th ox-racing championship on August 26, 2012 in Muensing, Germany. The competition, which only takes place once every four years, is a race of jockeys riding bareback on oxen across a field and is complemented with a morning procession and "ox-ball" (featuring roasted ox) in a festivities tent after the races.
