According to the Hong Kong Confederation of Trade Unions, the stevedores have lowered their wage demands as the strike action over pay and working conditions enters its 34th day. Labor day is celebrated across South East Asia on May 1 and is seen as an opportunity to acknowledge the social and economic accomplishments of the workers.
