Afghans attend ceremonies marking the 11th anniversary of the death of national hero Ahmed Shah Massoud in his hometown of Panjshir, 87 miles north of Kabul, Afghanistan, Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012. The charismatic Northern Alliance commander was killed on Sept. 9, 2001 when two men posing as journalists with fake passports detonated a bomb hidden in a camera as they pretended to interview him.
