Indian police personnel detain a Tibetan activist protesting near the Taj Palace Hotel, venue for the BRICS Summit in New Delhi on March 29, 2012. The Tibetan exile who set himself on March 26 in New Delhi died on March 28 and police detained at least 100 other activists protesting against Chinese President Hu Jintao's arrival in the city. Since early 2011, at least 29 Tibetans, many of them Buddhist monks and nuns, are reported to have set themselves on fire in Tibetan-inhabited areas of China to protest against Chinese rule.
