07/15/2008: A great blue heron hunts for food at Meadowbrook Pond in Northeast Seattle this week. Meadowbrook Pond, built by Seattle Public Utilities to hold stormwater and reduce flooding in the Thornton Creek Watershed, also provides a slice of nature for people and urban wildlife. The pond is on the corner of 35th Avenue Northeast between Northeast 105th and Northeast 110th streets.
