Photographer's description: "This was just a quick snap while I was trying to juggle my kids in the snow. I used Picasa to lighten it a bit as it was underexposed. Taken with a Canon 7D with 50 mm lens."
Expert says: "Though just a 'quick snap,' this week's pick has striking composition. The trio of ducks and their path through the ice leads the viewer's eye smoothly through the image. Foliage anchors the right side of the frame and mirrors the curve of the ducks' path, drawing the eye back to the entry point. A faster shutter speed would have stopped the snow from streaking."
