Photo taken: Feb. 3, Lake Union Photographer's description: "I awoke in the morning to a cacophony of crows as two bald eagles invaded their airspace above Lake Union's Waterway 19 on the east side of Gas Works Park. As one eagle glided to rest on high branches, I glanced to the water below and snapped the wavering reflection from my houseboat. Taken with my Nikon D80 and 55-200mm zoom."
Expert says: "This is a refreshing take on a familiar Northwest subject. By photographing the reflection of the trees and eagle instead of the objects directly, the image has an alternative perspective. The ripples in the water and inversion of the subject give this image a dreamlike quality. The texture of the trees contrasts nicely with clean sky, balancing each other with equal real estate in the frame."
