Seattle's PARK(ing) Day

Three-year-old Lucian Thach glances back at mom Ana as he works on his abstract piece with his hand-on-canvas in the parking lane on the north side of University St. next to the Seattle Art Museum Friday. The parking spaces were covered with artificial grass for PARK(ing) Day, an annual event throughout the city where people make parking spaces into "parks" for the day. SDOT approved 45 "parks".
