A new indoor skateboarding venue opened in downtown Everett last week. The Garage, built in a 3,500 square foot space formerly used as a garage, is a business conceived and operated by Jordan Sanchez, center, an elite amateur skater sponsored by two board companies. He and his wife, Anah, also run an espresso stand in Lake Stevens. They launched a fundraising drive to gauge interest in the skatepark and raised over $15,000 in a month. The site features ramps, rails and ledges that emulate the conditions skateboarders look for in the real world, often in conflict with public and private property rules. Skaters pay $8 for the day, or $5 with an annual membership of $150. Helmets and pads are provided.
