Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar kisses Senator Patty Murray as Senator Maria Cantwell, right, looks on after a ceremony that designated the Wing Luke Museum of the Asian Pacific American Experience an "affiliated area" of the National Park Service Sunday, February 10, 2013. Salazar also announced that the agency will be creating an Asian American Pacific Islander Theme Study to identify stories, locations and individuals of Asian American and Pacific Island heritage. Salazar also helped with a Daruma Ceremony, a tradition of filling in one eye of a Japanese doll and making a wish when starting a new journey. The second eye is filled in once the dream is realized. One of the dolls will stay at the Wing Luke Museum while the other will go with the National Park Service.
