Frank's Landing on the Nisqually River

Billy Frank Jr., front, cousin Bucky John and sons Willie and Sugar would be fishing for chums Sunday if there were fish to catch in the Nisqually River. Here, at Frank's Landing Billy Frank Jr. was arrested dozens of times defending his tribe's treaty right to fish. Habitat loss is blamed for the absence of fish in the river.
