Master Canoe Carver Saaduuts Peele started this fire for canoe steaming on the shore of Lake Union at 5 A.M. Saturday December 29, 2012. He is the artist-in-residence for the Center for Wooden Boats, who provided a bunch of firewood for the steaming, which was promptly stolen two days before it was to take place. It cost them $900 to replace.
