Learning to build canoes by hand

Teresa Dang from Americorps learns proper canoe carving technique from Brent Lodge, 26, of Lynnwood, left, on the shores of Lake Union. Lodge was helping his uncle, Saaduuts Peele, teach the short workshop. Through Americorps, Dang works as the MLK VISTA Senior Project Coordinator at the Vietnamese Friendship Association.
