For 20 years, Bill Whelan has owned and operated the Jambox, a 60-room band practice space on lower Queen Anne. The building is being torn down for new development. During the height of the grunge era, bands like Blind Melon and Screaming Trees basically lived there. In 20 years, he's never had a vacancy.
