Hat askew, bass drummer Jeff Barbee of Naches Valley High marches to the area behind the grandstands for a group photo after competing on the field at Everett Memorial Stadium. Thirty bands from Washington, Oregon and Idaho came to the Puget Sound Festival of Bands to showcase their talents in a steady rain Saturday. The competition began in 1988 (then called the Cascade Sound Marching Band Championships.)
