Charko Tucker, 7, with a Barbie backpack, and Heaven King, 4, with an Olivia the Pig backpack were among the more than 700 youngsters receiving them Saturday, distributed by the Alajawan Brown Foundation in partnership with Skyway Fire (King County Fire District 20). About 1,000 backpacks were collected at the Skyway Fire Training Center. Heaven's backpack is almost as tall as she is.
