Odissi: a traditional Indian dance

Shibani Patnaik of Philadelphia applies ornamental makeup to perform 'Samsara, The Cycle of Life', a music and dance performance, at the Rainier Valley Cultural Arts Center Sunday April 29, 2012. Odissi is a traditional form of dance from Orissa, in Eastern India. Patnaik is on a 14-show tour across the U.S. with four musicians from Orissa for the next several weeks. The Oriyas of Greater Seattle, a cultural group from Orissa, brought them here to perform.
