Sakura-Con 2012, at the Washington State Convention Center in downtown Seattle brings more than 14,000 Japanese anime enthusiasts and some 120 exhibitors to town beginning on Friday and continuing throughout the weekend. This is the 15th year for Sakura-Con, presented by the Asia Northwest Cultural Education Association. The annual consumer convention is one of the oldest and best-attended anime conventions in the Pacific Northwest and is one of Seattle's largest this year with a projected local economic impact of $14.4 million. A wide variety of characters from cartoons, movies and anime are present at the Convention Center this weekend.
