The Werkhoven Dairy in Monroe, Wash. has 1,000 milking cows. Recycling several products like beer and wine into the food is just one way the dairy has become a model of environmental sustainability. The farm uses the manure from the cows to fuel a methane plant that turns tons of manure into electricity powering more than 300 homes. This calf was born last October.
