UmojaFest & Parade

Taji Sterling, a Sweet Mahagony drill team member came prepared for the rain Saturday. All 14 from the group who participated in UmojaFest wore the team colors, blue or yellow, in their raingear. They range in age from 6 to 17. The annual African American heritage parade begins at the corner of 23rd and Union. The festival continues Sunday at Judkins Park and Playfield at 2150 S. Norman Street.
