SPU's Cutting of the Ivy Ceremony

Following the traditional Cutting of the Ivy ceremony at Seattle Pacific University, Charity Bilyeu playfully tries out her piece as a mustache. She received a bachelor's degree in interior design. The "Ivy Cutting" is an annual ceremony at Tiffany Loop on campus celebrated since 1922 and represents cutting the students' ties to the university and the independence following graduation. "It's all about saying you have been a part of our circle at SPU...and it's time to cut you loose and send you off with our blessing, love and encouragement...to make the world a better place," said one of the speakers.
