Canada's Oil Sands Region

Enormous heavy mining equipment works in one of the the open pit oil sands mines in northern Alberta, Canada. Each truckload of oil sand can produce about 100 barrels of oil. Major Oil sands development at plants such as Albian Sands Co. in Fort McMurray, Alberta, are producing hundreds of thousands of barrels of oil daily helping feed US oil needs.
