John Steward of Maple Rock Farm shows lettuce starts on Orcas Island, Friday, June 1, 2012. Steward, part of the sustainable farming movement here, sells at summer market on Saturdays, and hosts open house "farm night" to introduce people to growing their own edibles. As the website says: "Maple Rock Farm is a constantly evolving organism."
