Saying 'I bleed purple and gold,' former Husky head football coach Jim Lambright expressed his shock at being fired. He'd been with the program more than three decades. Washington had a singular philosophy from 1957 to 1998 - hard-hitting, tough, able to win with defense and special teams when needed. The firing of Lambright, however, signaled the end of that 40-year era.
