For some people, it might be silly, like making a 2-liter plastic soda bottle that doesn't fall over when you look at it. For others, it might be deadly serious, like a lifesaving safety practice, or another clever way to make people's daily lives better.

Either way, most of us at least on some level are dreamers, and, given magical powers to be supreme ruler for a day, would have one solid idea of a way to make the world a better place. We'd like to hear yours for an upcoming piece in Pacific NW magazine, which in 2013 will focus on the future: Facing a bucketful of challenges, where do we go from here, and who's going to help us get there?

Make your idea as specific, practical, achievable and as locally focused as possible (no universal themes like ending world disease; Bill Gates is already working on that one) Send it to:

Ron Judd, The Seattle Times, P.O. Box 70, Seattle, WA, 98111, or via email to rjudd@seattletimes.com. The deadline is Dec. 14.
