Look good going into and out of your workout

Throw on some fun earrings and a great scarf and nobody will even notice you're wearing leggings as pants.

If pretty workout clothes motivate you to work out, then by all means, buy some. But... MORE

WORKOUT GEAR was once relegated to the gym. Nobody wanted to see you in your old college T-shirts and logo shorts anyway.

But cute workout gear has become its own massive industry, with plenty of choices and eye-popping prices to go with. If you're paying $80 for yoga pants, there is no shame in wearing them to the grocery store. At least that's what I tell myself.

Still, when given the option to wear fun, fashionable workout clothes — especially when we're otherwise sweaty and disheveled — we choose cute. Throw on some fun earrings and a great scarf and nobody will even notice you're wearing leggings as pants.

Here are some of our favorites for this season:

This hoodie is comfy enough to throw on post-workout, but is still sleek enough for a coffee run. Nike Women's Training Hoodie, $125. www.nike.com.

Zella is our go-to brand for affordable leggings. The fabric is soft and forgiving, and they stay put in all the right places. Try the green for a pop of color. Zella Live-in Reversible Capris, $48. www.nordstrom.com.

We would love to quit Lululemon, but we don't know how. The new Scoop Me Up Tank is one of the most flattering tops we've seen yet from the company known for high-quality, adorable and spendy gear. Lululemon Scoop Me Up Tank, $58. www.lululemon.com.

For a flattering fit and ruching that perfectly frames your hard-earned rear, check out MeSheeky's Trixie pant. Pick up their cute skirts while you're at it to turn leggings into a whole outfit. MeSheeky Trixie pant, $88. www.mesheeky.com.

Go light and fashionable with Nike's Free Run +3 shoe, which molds to your foot and allows for a natural stride. Nike Free Run +3 in Night Blue/Fireberry, $100. www.nike.com.

Let's face it: There is nothing cute about padded bike shorts. So let us focus on the top, where we at least stand a fighting chance. We love this jersey top's bright pink color. Pearl Izumi Symphony Jersey, pink punch, $85. shop.pearlizumi.com.
