Doggone it, I wanna look
Seattle Times reader Adam Cade’s photo of a hiking friend and his dog checking their GPS.
Photographer: Adam Cade, Bangor, Kitsap County
Photo taken: Jan. 3, Green Mountain State Forest
Photographer's description: "I took this picture while a friend, Kevin Horseman, and I attempted to plot our location on a GPS during a hike. Sunlight made a quick appearance and his dog jumped into his lap so I snapped the picture (using a Contax G2 rangefinder with a 45mm lens)."
Expert says: "Anyone can set up an adorable moment like this but to catch it is special. The photographer got down on the subjects’ level to make them more prominent, which also makes it so the viewer doesn’t feel like they are looking down on them. Trying different angles can transform an ordinary scene into something fresh and unique."
