Willis D. Tucker Community Park, 6705 Puget Park Drive in Snohomish, has Snohomish County's largest park for off-leash dogs, but folks apparently don't walk their dogs to the park. In mid-October, 49 parking spaces were added and a parking lot for the handicapped was built next to the dog-play area to ease parking congestion.

The 84-acre park has three designated dog areas. The four-acre Open Meadow is the largest, outfitted with a dog agility course — a ramp, jumps, weave poles and hurdles. There is plenty of open space for dogs to roam. Nearby is a modest, "low-impact" area designated for shy and older dogs. The Forested Trail is where pet owners can stroll with their dogs in a lush landscape of firs, alders, cottonwoods and maples. More information: www1.co.snohomish.wa.us/Departments/Parks.
