The summer festival season is in full swing around the Puget Sound area. Here's a sampling of what's on for this weekend:

Pride weekend: Look for crowds Saturday during Capitol Hill Pride Festival, on Broadway, from East John Street to Roy Street. Best to keep the car parked, and walk or take the bus. Entertainment will be on three stages. Special events include a Paint for Pride art walk and a Doggie Drag Costume Contest. Details on Page 5. And don't forget the Seattle Pride Parade on Sunday, and Pridefest, the big Gay pride party with entertainment on three stages at Seattle Center. See Page 8.

Taste of Tacoma: Haven't been to Tacoma lately? Here's your excuse. Thirty restaurants and food vendors will be on hand Friday-Sunday for the Taste of Tacoma at Point Defiance Park. Wineries and arts and crafts vendors will join in, and free parking will be at Tacoma Community College. Details on Page 5.

Calling all Techies: The Happy Go Techy Expo Saturday at Mary Gates Hall on the University of Washington campus promises an array of tech-related accessories, art, mobile app demos and contests. It's free, but $5 donations are suggested, with the money going to benefit Seattle's NPower. See Page 5.

Berry time: The cool spring means the fruit is a bit late this year, but the start of berry season always calls for celebration. Fresh strawberries, agricultural displays, games and entertainment will be on tap at the Bellevue Strawberry Festival Saturday and Sunday at Crossroads Park. Details on Page 5. Remlinger Farms will celebrate the season with a Spring Berry Festival Saturday and Sunday in Carnation. See Page 8.

Shoreline Arts Festival: Go global at two weekend celebrations. The Shoreline Arts Festival is Saturday and Sunday, with Pacific Islander, Samoan, Korean, Japanese, Filipino, Taiwanese and Chinese exhibits at the Shoreline Conference Center. See Page 5. Also on Saturday and Sunday is the SeaTac International Festival at Angle Lake Park. Page 5.

LiveARTS Bothell Art Festival: Take in a juried art exhibit Saturday and Sunday, with arts and crafts by 50 vendors, entertainment, a quilt show, wine and beer garden, children's activities and more on the Cascadia Community College campus. See Page 5.
