'Snow Train' tours to Leavenworth set for December

Take a trip to Leavenworth aboard the "Snow Train" in December.

Amtrak's new service from Seattle to the Bavarian town of Leavenworth arrives at night, but daylight rail tours will be available each Saturday in December on Alki Tours' "Snow Train." Passengers board at Seattle's King Street at 8:30 a.m., or can get on in Edmonds or Everett. Along the way, they will be treated to a continental breakfast and entertainment including musicians and magicians. The train arrives at 12:30 p.m. and departs at 5:25 p.m. Cost is $149 for adults and $139 for children, including dinner on the way back.
