First three horses listed in each race in order of predicted finish.

Saturday

First race: 2 p.m.

1 51/2 furlongs, purse $5,800, 3-year-olds and up, fillies and mares, claiming $4,000
PPHorseJockeyLineWt.
2Niftys Tee Time R Richard7/2123
1Lahaina Rose J Gutierrez8/5117
5Claudia's Cahill J Matias4123
3Zafari Nation J Zunino8114
4Alta's Forever C Doll15114
6Parker's Prospect L Mawing3114

Niftys Tee Time had a tough trip in his last race and gets a better post position. Lahaina Rose easily beat bottom-level maidens in her last start, and the second-place horse came back to win last weekend. Claudia’s Cahill looks pretty good if you can excuse her last race, which was a clunker.

2 61/2 furlongs, purse $5,900, 3-year-olds and up, claiming $2,500
PPHorseJockeyLineWt.
6Da Ruler A Sanguinetti7/2124
3Immigration J Whitaker3120
4Brudda Clyde C Doll2124
1Our Marshal Cahill L Camacho-Flores10124
2Making Fire E Kubinova12124
5Always the Same R Bowen4124
7Marvin's Magic J Gutierrez10124

Da Ruler is tough at this claiming level and at this distance. Immigration has been second in his past two starts and is still trying hard at age 10. Brudda Clyde is coming off a nice win and might be favored, but why is he dropping in class?

3 6 furlongs, purse $17,850, 3-year-olds and up, maiden optional claiming $30,000
PPHorseJockeyLineWt.
2Calculated Chaos A Sanguinetti3124
5Italian Warrior L Mawing7/2118
6St Nicholas Becky I Enriquez5/2118
1Cahill Lyon J Gutierrez4118
3On the Turn L Camacho-Flores9/2124
4Wide Rule J Rosales8119

Calculated Chaos returns to 6 furlongs after finishing third at a mile. He can take a step forward. Italian Warrior could be ready for a big race in his third start after a layoff. St Nicholas Becky jumps up in class but is an improving horse.

4 5 furlongs, purse $17,850, 2-year-old, fillies, maiden special weight
PPHorseJockeyLineWt.
7Raesbeautiful Hope R Bowen4117
9Dance With Effie L Mawing3117
8Andiamo Deb J Matias9/2117
1Dancingwithdebbie I Enriquez5117
2Chronologic'sghost A Sanguinetti8117
3Twelfth Fan L Camacho-Flores15117
4Sneaking a Kiss J Gutierrez6117
5Pippa Bou Peep E Kubinova8117
6Steady Teddy R Richard12117

Raesbeautiful Hope has been training well for her career debut for trainer Tom Wenzel, who is overdue to have a 2-year-old winner. Dance With Effie showed good speed in her debut and held on for second. Andiamo Deb was a well-beaten seventh as the 8-5 favorite in a similar race two weeks ago.

5 11/16 miles, purse $5,900, 3-year-olds and up, claiming $2,500
PPHorseJockeyLineWt.
1Barton Hill A Sanguinetti6124
6Localsucess L Mawing5/2124
7Moment of Weakness C Doll7/2 124
2Joel N Jill R Bowen10118
3Run Atom J Whitaker12124
4Twentyten J Matias4118
5Honour Family E Kubinova3124

Barton Hill isn’t the most consistent horse, but he has a good chance if it’s a day when he feels like running. Localsucess ran a clunker in his Emerald Downs debut, but leading jockey Leslie Mawing takes the mount while getting off Moment of Weakness, another top contender in this race.

6 61/2 furlongs, purse $5,900, 3-year-olds and up, fillies and mares, claiming $4,000
PPHorseJockeyLineWt.
7Anitewithyou L Mawing5/2120
6Promiscuous Harbor R Bowen2123
5Forbidden Kee I Enriquez3120
1American Council J Zunino6123
2Special Buttons R Richard15120
3Nobluffjustgo A Sanguinetti8123
4Chromatose C Doll12123

Anitewithyou looked like she might win her last race, but got fanned real wide into the stretch. She gets a rider change to Mawing, which could help. Promiscuous Harbor won her last race by 6½ lengths. Forbidden Kee was second at this level in her last start, which was her first at Emerald Downs.

7 6 furlongs, purse $7,200, 3-year-olds and up, fillies and mares, claiming $5,000/$4,000
PPHorseJockeyLineWt.
1Perfect Pie A Sanguinetti9/2119
6Cha Cha Latte R Bowen6/5123
5Ducoti J Matias3123
2Jewel S. I Enriquez5119
3Strange Luck R Richard12119
4Bella Angelina J Whitaker6119

Perfect Pie would have trounced this group last year. She continues down the class ladder after three poor races to open this year, and she deserves one more chance. Cha Cha Latte has won four of five starts at Emerald Downs. Ducoti has won 10 times at Emerald Downs in 35 starts.

8 6 furlongs, purse $7,450, 3-year-olds and up, fillies and mares, claiming $7,500
PPHorseJockeyLineWt.
6Tricky Person E Kubinova5/2118
5Magic Molly J Matias5124
2Seadrifter L Mawing7/2118
1Inkey Mooey I Enriquez4118
3Mini Candy R Bowen9/2118
4Kandra F Valdez3121

Tricky Person ran too fast, too early in her last race and faded badly as the even-money favorite. She drops in class and is a threat to lead from gate to wire. Magic Molly tries hard every race and should be close at the end. Seadrifter drops in class.

9 61/2 furlongs, purse $5,500, 3-year-olds and up, maiden claiming $5,000
PPHorseJockeyLineWt.
7Alaazwho L Mawing3118
2Drop Volley J Matias2118
6Everydayimhustlin J Whitaker5124
1J P Diamond I Enriquez10118
3Regazze Cat L Camacho-Flores15118
4Lamparo R Bowen6118
5Retirement R Richard20124
8Skip My Turn E Kubinova6118

Alaazwho cuts back to a much better distance, and the top jockey takes the mount. Drop Volley has been second in his past two races but was scratched by the veterinarian before the start of his scheduled race June 28. Everydayimhustlin in winless in 18 starts, but has been in the money in three of his past four races.

BEST BET: Anitewithyou.
