First three horses listed in each race in order of predicted finish.
First race: 6:45 p.m.
|1 1 mile, purse $7,200, 3-year-olds and up, fillies and mares, claiming $5,000/$4,000|
|1||Lady Aragorn||E Kubinova||7-2||123|
|6||Bella Angelina||J Whitaker||3-1||119|
|2||Poly Squat||J Zunino||5-2||119|
|4||Miss Madavor||R Richard||5-1||116|
|5||Lizzy Lass||G Mitchell||4-1||119|
Lady Aragorn drops in class to the level she won at two races ago, and she has had great success at this distance (four wins, two seconds and a third in eight starts). Bella Angelina has finished second 10 times in 29 career starts, including her past two races at 13-1. Poly Squat was second in her last race when running a mile for the first time.
|2 6 furlongs, purse $5,700, 3-year-olds and up, claiming $3,500|
|2||Frisco Bound||J Zunino||5-1||124|
|4||Big Fat Storm||D Lopez||7-2||124|
|1||Our Marshal Cahill||L Camacho-Flores||4-1||124|
|5||Direct Cost||J Whitaker||6-1||124|
|6||Mr Mahal||L Gonzalez||12-1||124|
|7||Brudda Clyde||C Doll||6-1||124|
Rezar was claimed out of his last race, which he won when competing at the bottom claiming level here ($2,500) for the first time. He can win again. Frisco Bound is in great form and has been first or second in 10 of 14 career starts. Big Fat Storm finished second in a similar race in his last start.
|3 6 furlongs, purse $8,925, 3-year-olds and up, maiden claiming weight for age $12,500|
|5||Owner's Choice||R Bowen||8-1||118|
|4||Right Idea||L Mawing||5-1||118|
|1||Illegal Parking||J Rosales||15-1||124|
|3||Open a Tap||I Enriquez||9-2||118|
|6||Magestic Cat||J Zunino||15-1||118|
|8||Master Game||G Mitchell||6-1||124|
|9||Diamond Drop||D Lopez||12-1||124|
|10||Stretch Home||J Gutierrez||3-1||124|
Sthenios can improve with the drop in class and a better post position. Owner’s Choice takes a big drop in class and is running for a claiming price for the first time. Right Idea is also dropping in class.
|4 1 mile, purse $5,700, 3-year-olds and up, claiming $3,500|
|1||Honour Family||E Kubinova||7-2||121|
|5||Buddy Dave||L Camacho-Flores||5-2||121|
|4||Credit Line||J Gutierrez||5-1||121|
|2||Run Atom||L Mawing||8-1||124|
|6||Sharp Focus||R Bowen||9-2||121|
Honour Family was a solid third behind a couple of tough horses two weeks ago in his return from a long layoff, and he had a useful 6-furlong workout on Sunday. Buddy Dave was making up ground quickly in his last race to finish fourth and might like stretching out to a mile. Credit Line has struggled this year but ran two big races at this distance last summer.
|5 1 mile, purse $7,200, 3-year-olds and up, claiming $5,000/$4,000|
|1||Moment of Weakness||L Mawing||6-1||120|
|2||He's All Heart||G Mitchell||5-1||120|
|4||Givajunior Mint||J Zunino||8-1||120|
|5||Havin a Good Day||J Rosales||7-2||122|
|7||Big Bad Brown||E Kubinova||5-2||124|
This is a great handicapping race where a good case can be made for nearly every horse in the field. Moment of Weakness should be ready for a big race in his third start after a long layoff, and he can save ground from his inside post position. Arraignment could improve in his second start at Emerald Downs. Ontheshadyside is in great form.
|6 1 mile, purse $12,700, 3-year-olds and up, claiming $15,000|
|1||Posse Power||I Enriquez||9-5||120|
|2||Southern Solution||R Richard||9-2||120|
|5||Secret Harbor||J Gutierrez||6-1||114|
Songandabullet finished second three weeks ago to a horse who has won five straight. His stablemate, Posse Power, was a stakes horse at Emerald Downs in his younger days. He is still tough at this level at age 7 but he rarely wins. Southern Solution is 2 for 2 at this distance.
|7 11/16 miles, purse $5,600, 3-year-olds and up, fillies and mares, claiming $2,500|
|3||American Council||J Zunino||5-1||120|
|4||Parker's Pearl||D Lopez||7-2||120|
|2||Suddenly Adele||I Enriquez||5-2||117|
|1||Appealing Artie||R Richard||9-2||123|
|5||Hey Lil Missy||R Bowen||10-1||114|
|6||Sunshine Candy||J Gutierrez||3-1||123|
|7||One Smart Girl||L Camacho-Flores||15-1||120|
This is a tough race as no horse in the field has run quite this far before. American Council has had some success in route races but has just one win in 26 starts, so don’t bet the house. Parker’s Pearl seems to be rounding into form. Suddenly Adele is at a manageable level after winning for the first time in her last race.
Best bet: Sthenios.
