Sweet Saga drops to a career-low riding level and her jockey, Leslie Mawing, was the 2011 riding champion at Emerald. Bella Angelina has just two wins in 25 races, but she has finished second eight times. Valid Vixen Queen has good early speed.

Royal Tale showed some promise last year and has been working out well. Trick Or Retreat was third in his only career race, in August. Prayer for Da Bric has been racing decently in Northern California and has the most racing experience in the field.

Major Incident showed early speed before fading at a higher level in his only career start, in June. Sunshine in Rio lost by a head in his only start, in August. Spit and Shine finished third in his last start, in September.

It’s hard to endorse any horse in this race, but Vegas Burn has been running OK at Golden Gate in Northern California and has a speed-figure advantage over most of the field. Bird Colonel drops in class after being off almost a year. Shuddle should be rallying late.
