Rewind: Live chat with pro skateboarders Mitchie Brusco & Sky Siljeg

Mitchie Brusco and Sky Siljeg are two popular stars in professional skateboarding and they both hail from the Seattle area.

Brusco, from Kirkland, made history in July 2011 as he landed the first 900 in a competition in Brazil and then followed that up last May by becoming the first person to land a 1080 in a competition at the X Games in Barcelona.

Siljeg, who grew up in Bothell, has been skating since he was 5 and won back-to-back National Men's Concrete titles in 2006-07. He was also ranked in the top three in the World Cup Skateboarding rankings from 2009-11.

Both skaters will be participating in this weekend's EZ Rocks Skate for a Cure competition, which honors the memory of skateboard enthusiast Ethan Zakes. It will be held at the Bellevue Skate Park on Saturday at 11 a.m.

Brusco and Siljeg answered questions about their skateboarding careers, the EZ Rocks Skate for a Cure event and more in a live chat on Sept. 19.
