The exceptionally quick Chu and You used her speed to bag another stakes victory Sunday at Emerald Downs.

Under Juan Gutierrez, Chu and You raced to a 2½-length victory over Strawberry Dawn in the $49,500 Barbara Shinpoch Stakes for 2-year-old fillies.

Chu and You ran 6½ furlongs in 1:17.

Note

Wasserman was pulled up in Sunday’s seventh race and trainer Howard Belvoir said the Auburn track’s all-time leading earner was in no distress.

According to Belvoir, the 11-year-old gelding and 2008 Longacres Mile winner suffered a bowed tendon in his left front leg and is retired from racing.

Wasserman earned $575,024 and was 13-13-13 in 71 starts.
