First three horses listed in each race in order of predicted finish.

June 14

First race: 6:45 p.m.

Big Fat Storm makes his first start for trainer David Bennett after being claimed out of his last race, and Bennett does a great job with horses making their first start after a claim. Watch The Road takes another drop in class after poor breaks in each of his first two starts. Fastest rallied some against a decent group in a Quarterhorse/Thoroughbred race and could be a surprise in a good, even race.

Stylish Margin gets a better post position and should improve in her second start after a layoff. Nobluffjustgo drops in class for her second career start. Parkers Pirate also has a decent chance.

Sun City cuts back in distance and seems primed for a big race at age 9. Fantasyville has won nine times at Emerald. Courtney’s Prize finishes third often.

Nene should improve in his second start at Emerald Downs, and he gets an extra furlong tonight. Ontheshadyside has been hot, but he was claimed out of his last race and now has a trainer with a low win percentage. Warrior Jon will try to chase down the early leaders.

Buck’s Bro is in great form, as is Last Diamond. Power Fleet is tough at this level.

Clemens Brook almost held on for the win in her last race despite setting a very fast and grueling early pace. Opening Buzz takes a slight jump up in class after winning by 7 lengths last month. Montelena makes her first start of the year, and won her first race last year after a long layoff.

This is a great handicapping race, with almost every horse in the race in good form. Wedge of Gold drops a notch in class after losing to a tough horse in her last race. Redseasalt might have the most early speed. She drops in class after being claimed for $5,000 out of her last race. Sweet Pleasure will be rallying late.

Best bet: Clemens Brook
