KELOWNA, B.C. — The Everett Silvertips' shot at a three-game weekend sweep was ruined by a 5-1 loss to the Kelowna Rockets on Sunday in Western Hockey League action.
Following back-to-back wins over Seattle on Friday and Saturday, the Silvertips went 0 for 6 on powerplays as Kelowna scored four straight after the game was tied at 1-1.

• Western Washington's fifth-ranked men's basketball team (10-0) beat visiting Thompson Rivers, 98-62, on Sunday.
• Team Sieg, consisting of Lyle Sieg, Steve Lundeen, Ken Trask and Duane Rutan, won their first Washington State Senior Curling Championship on Saturday at Granite Curling Club in Seattle.
