Eastern Washington snaps four-game losing streak, beating Idaho State
A late 8-0 run fueled the Eagles to a 57-54 victory at home.
CHENEY — A late 8-0 run and a key block by Thomas Reuter with nine seconds left lifted Eastern Washington's men's basketball team to a 57-54 victory over visiting Idaho State on Saturday in a Big Sky Conference game.
Justin Crosgile offset a 2-of-12 shooting night with seven assists, four steals and seven rebounds to go along with eight points. His three-point play with 3:31 left gave Eastern a lead it would not relinquish, and the Eagles (3-9, 1-1 Big Sky) snapped a four-game losing streak.
"To be on this side of a close win will go a long way for our guys — it was a much-needed win," Eastern coach Jim Hayford said in a news release.
Other Men's Basketball
No. 21 Northwest University (14-3, 4-1 Cascade Collegiate Conference) lost at No. 2 Eastern Oregon, 77-63.
Women's basketball
Eastern Washington won a road game against Idaho State for the first time since 2003, improving to 5-5 (2-0 Big Sky) with a 61-55 victory.
• Northwest fell to 2-10 (1-4 CCC) after losing at No. 9 Eastern Oregon, 88-54.
