Rewind: Live chat with Seattle marathon legends Uli and Trisha Steidl

With the Amica Insurance Seattle Marathon less than two weeks away, noted runner and Seattle University assistant coach Uli Steidl and his wife Trisha, the head coach for Seattle University's cross country and track & field programs, answered questions in a live chat Nov. 15 on seattletimes.com.

About Uli: Now an assistant coach at Seattle U for Cross Country and Track & Field, Uli Steidl is arguably the greatest road runner the Pacific Northwest has ever known, having won the Seattle Marathon eight consecutive times from 1999-2006. The German-born runner also boasts five Vancouver Marathon wins (2000 - 2004) and a still-standing Portland Marathon course record (2:17:21, 1997).

Age hasn't slowed Steidl, who recently turned 40. In April 2012, Uli claimed the Boston Marathon's masters division with a time of 2:23.08--good for 15th overall.

About Trisha: Trisha has presided over an excellent stretch of results for Seatte U's cross country and track & field squads. The men's cross country team posted back-to-back second place finishes at the 2009 and 2010 Great West Conference championships. In 2011, the women took third place in the conference.

Trisha was an NCAA championship rower at the University of Washington in the late 90s and has won the Seattle Marathon three times herself (2006, 2007, and 2011).
