Buds a Flyin has reeled off victories in bunches before, and he is coming off a convincing victory two weeks ago. Majorca Gold has two wins and a second in three starts at this meet, and drops in class. He is also a big threat in a tough race, as is Marquetching, who has run three consecutive good races.

Royal Cantu was fourth despite getting a wide trip from the No. 9 post in his last race, when taking the big drop into a maiden-claiming race. He could get a much better trip with a good break from the inside post. Kamilche Road beat the top pick in his last race and should be the favorite again today. Semele showed a lot of promise as a 2-year-old and takes a big drop in class after three poor races this year.

This is a great handicapping race, as you can make a decent case for almost every horse in it.
Doctor Pav ran a great race in his last race, and a repeat performance would make him tough.
Bad as Can Be has won twice at this distance at this meet.
Dance Chief was running against better at Golden Gate Fields, and trainer Tim McCanna takes over after claiming him for $4,000 out of his last race.

Cat On Base has been one of the top horses of the meet with three big wins, but he is no lock today as he faces pace pressure and other hot horses.
Newfound Gold might be in a good spot if he can find a nice spot right behind the fast pace.
Polish Dollar has won eight times at Emerald and is coming off an impressive win.

At age 10,

Country Square is versatile and rarely runs a bad race.
Kool Comic also has a decent shot to win in a good group for this level.
