Live chat with former Kirkland National Little Leaguers Cody Webster & Shawn Cochran
On August 28, 1982, Cody Webster, Shawn Cochran and a group of schoolyard friends from Kirkland, Washington, beat powerful Chaiyi City, Taiwan, 6-0 to win the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
At the time, it was the first American team to win the LLWS championship in more than a decade.
A new documentary by ESPN debuting Aug. 31 features Webster and several teammates and examines what became of this group of Kirkland kids who won Little League's ultimate prize.
Webster and Cochran will be available to talk about the team's title ride, their life experiences after the memorable victory and more in a live chat at noon Thursday.
