A look at how athletes with Washington connections have fared in the U.S. Olympic track and field trials that end Sunday in Eugene, Ore.:

Bound for Olympics

Brad Walker: Former Washington athlete won the men's pole vault final, clearing 18 feet, 7 ¼ inches to make the Olympic team.

Jarred Rome: Marysville High School graduate, and former Boise State standout, made the Olympic team by finishing second in the men's discus, with a throw of 207-10.

Bernard Lagat: Former Washington State runner was second to former Oregon star Galen Rupp in the men's 5,000 meters final, with a time of 13 minutes, 22.82 seconds, and will compete in the Olympics.

Aretha (Hill) Thurmond: Former Washington athlete made her fourth Olympic team by finishing second in women's discus final with throw of 204-2.

Still competing

Kara Patterson: Seattle-born athlete, who graduated from Skyview High School in Vancouver, Wash., advanced easily to Sunday's women's javelin final. Patterson recorded the best mark of the 24 competitors in qualifying, 198-5, on her first and only throw, passing on her two other attempts.

Katie (Follett) Mackey: Former Washington runner had the ninth-best time in the women's 1,500 meters semifinals Friday, qualifying for the Sunday final with a time of 4:10.54.

Failed to make Olympics

Scott Roth: Former Washington pole vaulter jumped 18-4 ½ to finish third but did not make the Olympic team because he hadn't achieved the Olympic A standard of 18-9 ¼.

Andrea Geubelle: Product of Tacoma's Curtis High placed third in the women's triple jump at 45-3 but didn't make the Olympic team because she has not met the qualifying standard.

Ginnie Powell-Crawford: Former Rainier Beach competitor finished fourth in the 100 hurdles, at 12.90.

Ian Waltz: Former Washington State athlete was fourth in the discus with a throw of 201-2, falling just short of the Olympic team.

Sean Keller: Heritage High School graduate was eighth in the men's javelin at 246-5.

Chris Randolph: Former Seattle Pacific athlete finished seventh in the decathlon with 7,468 points.

Bryan Clay: Athlete who trains occasionally in Seattle fell in the 110 hurdles and finished 12th in the decathlon with 7,092 points.

Norris Frederick: Former Washington athlete finished fifth in the men's long-jump final with leap of 26-1.

Will Conwell: Former Washington athlete was 10th in the men's discus, with a mark of 188-4.

Blessing Ufodiama: Former Washington State athlete placed 10th in the women's triple jump at 42-3 ½.

Mark Wieczorek: Gig Harbor cross-country coach placed seventh in the men's 800 meters in 1:45.62.

Mike Sayenko: Former Washington runner finished 22nd in the 10,000 meters, clocking 29:18.57.

Sarah Porter: Former Western Washington runner failed to finish in the women's 10,000-meter final.

Jeshua Anderson: Former Washington State runner failed to advance to the men's 400-meter hurdles final. He finished eighth in his semifinal heat, with a time of 53.15 seconds. He had advanced to the semifinals with a time of 50.49 in the prelims.

Katie Flood: Washington NCAA champion failed to qualify for the women's 1,500 meters final. Her time of 4:11.38 was the 14th best in the two semifinal heats, with 12 runners advancing to the final.

Jordan Boase: Former Washington athlete was scratched from the start of the men's 400-meter semifinals. He had run 45.95 in his preliminary heat to qualify for the semifinals.

Brittany Aanstad: The Lake Stevens High School graduate and current Seattle Pacific athlete did not advance in the women's javelin, with a best mark of 148-4.

Collier Lawrence: Former WSU runner failed to qualify for the final in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase, finishing 10th in her heat with a time of 10:00.35.

Lois Keller: Seattle resident failed to qualify for final in women's steeplechase, 11th in her heat (10:00.62).

John Ricardi: Seattle resident failed to qualify for the final in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase, finishing in 9:05.92.

Levi Keller: Seattle resident failed to clear the opening height of 17-4 ½ in the men's pole vault qualifying.

Jason Colwick: Seattle resident failed to clear opening height in the men's pole vault qualifying.

Brie Felnagle: Bellarmine High School graduate did not qualify in women's 5,000 meters, finishing her prelims race in 16:13.34.

Jacob Riley: Sehome High School graduate did not qualify in men's 5,000 meters, finishing prelims heat in 13:59.73.

Logan Miller: Current Washington athlete recorded no height in women's pole vault final.

Shaniae Lakes: Former Washington athlete failed to qualify in the triple jump, fouling on her first two attempts before a 40-1 ¼ leap.

Joe Abbott: Washington State runner failed to advance in the men's 800 meters, finishing fourth in his heat with a time of 1:48.16.
