London Olympics to showcase Washington cyclists

USA Cycling announced 21 of its 24 nominees to the Olympic team Friday.
Farrar, a 28-year-old who is a Tour de France stage winner, is to make his Olympic debut in the London road race. He was 10th at last year's world championships.
Tejay van Garderen, 23, who was born in Tacoma, is also on the five-man team.
Taylor Phinney of Boulder, Colo., is on the road-race team and will fill the sole U.S. start position in the individual time trial.
Jennie Reed, 34, of Seattle is among four women on the track cycling team; she will be making her third appearance in the Olympics.
Arielle Martin, 26, of Spanaway is one of two women on the BMX team because she is the top-ranked woman in the BMX Power Ranking. The remaining three Olympians will be revealed this weekend after the BMX trials in Chula Vista, Calif.
