REWIND | Live thread: 1500 meter speedskating

DAVIS GETS second with 1:46.10.
DAVIS' SKATED his first lap .18 seconds under Tuitert.
SHANI DAVIS hails from Chicago, Illinois and was the first African-American to win an individual gold medal in a Winter Games.
LAST PAIR UP: USA's Shani Davis against Canada's Lucas Makowsky.
NEITHER will place.
SECOND TO LAST pair skating. USA's Chad Hedrick against the Netherlands' Stefan Groothuis.
RUSSIA'S SKOBREV knocked from firs to third. The Netherlands' Mark Tuitert is in first with 1:45.57, followed by Norway's HÃÆ'ÂÂ¥vard Bokko with 1:46.13.
TWO MORE PAIRS until Shani Davis skates.
NEW LEADER: Russia's Skobrev moves into first with a time of 1:46.42, knocking Mo to second. Morrison is in fifth place.
ANOTHER CANADIAN is up, Denny Morrison, racing against Russia's Ivan Skobrev.
FABRIS' EFFORT was not enough to place. He is in fourth place.
FABRIS IS JUST a second and a half from the leading time.
CANADA'S MATHIEU Giroux is up next against Italy's Enrico Fabris.
TAE-BUM MO takes the lead with 1:46.47. USA now occupies the seventh and ninth spot.
TAE-BUM MO took the gold in the 500 meter speedskate, Apolo Ohno took silver.
NOW UP IS USA's Trevor Marsicano racing with Korea's Tae-Bum Mo
YEVGNEY LALENKOV of Russia ends his race in third place with a time of 1:47.06
THE CURRENT STANDINGS are: Simon Kuipers of the Netherlands in first with 1:46.76, followed by Mikael Flygind Larsen in second with 1:46.77, and Sven Kramer of Netherlands remains in third with a time of 1:47.40.
NORWAY'S LARSEN ends his race 100th of a second behind Kuipers to take second and bump USA's Hansen to fifth.
NORWAY'S Mikael Flygind Larsen has the better time as he races Konrad Niedzweidzki around the track.
ZBIGNIEW BRODKA of Poland and Denis Kuzin of Kazakhstan just ended their race, moving into the eleventh and seventh slot.
AS OF 4:59 p.m., USA's Brian Hansen is in third place with 1:48.45. The Netherlands occupy the first two spots; Simon Kuipers with a time of 1:46.76, and Sven Kramer at 1:47:40.
Unlike other speedskating events, long track is run in timed pair races. USA's Shani Davis, the previous 1000 meter gold medal winner, will be in the last pair skating.
