Jerry Brewer on halfpipe and the U.S. medals

Thursday night, Stephanie Clary and I made the trek up to the Cypress Mountain Olympic venue, scaling its now infamous stairs. Here's a view from the bottom of the first leg (Photo by @sclary):
We watched the women's halfpipe finals, where Australian Torah Bright ended up beating out the Americans for the gold.
We caught up with Seattle Times Columnist Jerry Brewer to get his reaction after the event. In his column today, he writes: "In most other sports, such a high-profile mistake, from a defending Olympic champion, would be deemed a disappointment. Not in halfpipe."
