Boeing's troubles with 787s
ELAINE THOMPSON / AP
A line of Boeing 787 jets are parked at Paine Field Tuesday, Feb. 5, in Everett, Wash. Federal regulators say they are evaluating a Boeing request to conduct test flights of its 787 Dreamliners, which were grounded nearly three weeks ago after a battery fire in one plane and smoke in another.
Boeing should listen up
Kudos for all Sunday Times coverage of the Boeing 787 troubles. The very insightful views of John Talton, especially, go to the very heart of the problem [“Another 787 mystery: Where’s Boeing board?” Business, Feb. 3].
It is hoped that Chief Executive Jim McNerney, the Boeing board and management are listening. The ghosts of the Concorde and the Comet are lurking in the shadows
