The accused will be sheltered

So, let me really understand this: Two people can murder six people (including two small children), and the accused killers get to live on — with three meals a day, medical and dental care and a warm bed at night [“Death penalty thrown out in slayings,” page one, Feb. 1]?

What’s going on? Both have confessed to their crimes, so why is there even a “trial”?

Very sad that the children, their parents and grandparents no longer have the same benefits — and a cozy quilt at night.
