Boy Scouts officials announce ban on gays may end

Discrimination will remain under ban

An organization that allows discrimination anywhere in its ranks is a discriminatory organization ["Boy Scouts may end its national ban on gays," page one, Jan. 29]. For the members of the Boy Scouts of America national organization to throw responsibility for allowing or disallowing gay members onto the local chapters shows that they not living up to their responsibilities as human beings, as leaders, or as Christians. Not a nice example for the youngsters.
