Inslee to speak with federal leads on marijuana
Gov. will make an unnecessary trip
Did not the former governor of the state of Washington, after the last election only a few months ago, fly to Washington, D.C., purportedly to meet with the Justice Department regarding the apparent conflicting legal issues related to the marijuana law passed in the state?
Now, our newly elected governor proposes the same junket in his first week in office [“State, federal leaders to confer on pot policy,” NWSaturday, Jan. 19]. What has changed in two months?
Simply, cannot the parties involved meet locally, call or interface via any communications method available to debrief what is known to date, and save the taxpayer’s dime for another day?
